We got our place!!!

Our new place - yeah, it's a rental but it's a townhome rental. The boy & I have lived most our lives in apartments & so this will be different.
We are moving in on the 16th and have been looking around for furniture since we heard we are on the short list (for a rental, I know)
We are ordering our furniture tomorrow and should be getting it in a week or two :D
New place, new furniture, we have a nice little patio and a small lawny area to barbie....sigh...we are growing up.

The wedding plans have been on hold since Friday, when we went for the friend's 3 day engagement party in Anniston, Alabama (not Georgia as I thought) - the prettiest little valley surrounded by beautiful mountains.
It was all rather ethnic with a chat party on Friday and a engagement puja (my first one) and a lovely engagement party in gorgeous ranch with lake and mountains view.
All v. romantic, with lots of music, pretty lamps, tents, and lovely slow dances :)
Of course my eating went out the door, even though it was all veg, I still suspect I piled on some pounds on the food.
I have to get packing, get back to the wedding plans and keep working out because I just saw the photos of the weekend and I look like a slob. a wide slob. and my hair - oi! i can't wait to get it professionally done.

So that's what I have been up to.

Also, I saw Wanted, which I mindlessly enjoyed so much more than the Sex and The City movie, which I had been really looking forward to.
But the story, the dialogue - sheesh - a squirrel on pot could have come up with better, less syrupy words. It was such a smart series - but what is it about movies for women that makes filmmakers dumb down the scenarios and underline, highlight, italicise the 'l-o-v-e' theme.
I loved the accessories and the clothes and even loved the feather/bird thing SPJ had on her faux wedding day....but geez, the characters came out as one dimensionals thrust in to scenarios with no real substance, with no meaty explanations.
It was like they needed to come up with a montage of meaningless scenes so they could fit the clothes in.

Oh well, there's always Hell Boy, Mama Mia! and OMG batman to look forward for!

I had wanted to see "Sex and the City", but the more people who've seen it and write about it so disparagingly... I will wait for the DVD and a rainy day when there is nothing better to do.

I did go see "Wall-E" with my boy and it was wonderful! THAT one I'll buy as soon as it hits the shelves.

So exciting, your first place together like that! New furniture, new stuff... I was shopping for a wedding present today for a shower tomorrow and was daydreaming about starting over. There's a certain appeal to that idea when things aren't going exactly as you'd like. However, I will stay where I am and work on making this life work.

But I still daydream about my own place where beds stay made, toys aren't strewn all over and spills get wiped up. I'm sure there will be years of that to come, seeing as most of the women in my family FAR outlive their men.

Golly, I'm cheery tonight! Ignore me!

'From the ads 'Hancock' looks like it would be an interesting fun movie too.

Congrats!!1 There's nothing like your own place yeah??

I saw Sex and the city and I actually liked it - it was very girly and OTT about the 'love' theme (I mean come on Jennfier Hudson's not so subtle hints like the password??? cliche :P) but overall I loved it :)

Hancock I'll see for the eye candy factor - waiting fpr Wall-E to come out here!
