This is us
A post at 7 in the morning
X sits in his place and plans for it.
Fiscally, Responsibly, he saves, he hardly goes out, he saves some more. To get her a laptop, to get her a car, to get her all the things she asked/s for. Sometimes he gets himself silly electronic toys but above all he saves for it.
Y sits in her place and used to dream of it.
She keeps the things he buys but cares no longer for any dreams.
She feels betrayed by him for not having explained fully yet because conditions haven't been fulfilled fully yet. He says it is what it is.
She feels sad by things unexplained.
He feels things fully explained
She doubts
He assures
She doubts his assurance
He helplessly reassures.
She is out all the time.
He is in all the time.
And on and on it goes till X and Y fall apart.

don't worry, me, I know someone who's very much like you even now after 30 years of marriage :) she says it's cos of her steady diet of Hindi movies as a kid !!
