Our weekend plans
Our plans to do Daytona were all rained out,
other peeps were heading to St. Augustine to jet ski, But we decided not to...i can't remember why and instead spent the day cleaning up, oh how domestic :)
The boy and I cleaned, put up some pretty pics on our stairwell wall...our little house is coming together slowly.
We pottered around the place,
tried to return some used stuff, for which we were roundly scolded by returns counter person, but oh well,
returned some registry stuff,
discovered a lovely Filipino place, where we had the most tasty Lumpiang (a sort of spring roll) and chicken Adobo with garlic fried rice...
I was so glad to find the place.
Over the past month or so, I have been having all these culinary mishaps, including a crepe place that we went to after church last week that was worse than bleh!
It was so pretty from the outside and looked so European cafeish, and even had lovely plates but gawd, talk about mindlessly boring food - it loooked so bright but smelled so musty. bleh!
Had a longish siesta, light dinner, more chores
and late late night hanging out at the landing with new couple friends, over lovely coladas, and tiny fritters
the lapping of the waves, the slightly muggy air, and company and the gigantic drinks and boy - perfect.
Can you say 'putting back on the pounds'?
Sigh..today I eat, for tomorrow I must truly diet.
Today,
We did more chores around the house, called peeps for game night, had an awesome Indian lunch prepared by boy - daal, daal and more daal, with beef, rice and potatoes.
After which we rewatched Hot Fuzz, do I love Simon Pegg or what?
And how funny was oh so former crush Timothy Dalton - "awwww...that really hurts"
And now, we are going to cook like crazy for tomorrow is the first day of Ramadan ...
Here's what we plan to make
Bihari Shahi paneer
Bengali spinach
a fish dish (I feel his entire community is sort of obsessed with fish and i thought malayalees had it bad. I was flipping through this bangla channel and I swear, every other break had a fish ad in it. An ad with real live fish dish as the main shot)
some meat stuff
and bread
Tomorrow, I shop like crazy with gal pal, who is so sweet but who doesn't get my jokes.
Never mind, as the M.L says I plan to be above judgment about peeps around me.
