Things that I am going to miss while I am away

The Boy - the cuddles, the conversations, the walks, the marathon cooking -geez, everything and anything

being able to do what I want when I want to do it - there's this invisible line at home or wherever my parents are. The minute I cross it, my dad sees me as not the 30 year old who's been living on her own since she was 16 but as the child he needs to remind to take a bath, to wake up, to go for walk, to ask if she's sure she wants to wear that particular outfit with that particular hairstyle. sigh...:)

being able to do things without the the whole India mentality. or should I say kerala mentality hovering about me. The subtle but so there mentality that not being a boy means there are certain things you really shouldn't be doing, the male-female gender separation, just ever so subtly inserted in the church, in conversations, and everything in between, still there no matter how many eons you have lived outside of the country. there's a lot of things about my country that i will nostalgically gloss over, but this one is nostalgia resistant and is v.irksome.

the Sex and the City movie (which has the weirdest and kind of inappropriate song playing on the website ) - oh Carrie BrAdshaw - i shall have to see your 'can't believe she's wearing that but gawd she can carry it off' outfits on small screen and hear your witty voiceovers & convos on non Dolby sound

BattleStar Gallatica episodes - yes, the geek nerd that I am, i have made the boy sign in bloody blood that he will not, will not delete my BSG episodes till I come back or so help me God, I will ....oh lets just say the wrath of the Gods will frack him up for life!
