that's right - I am an Obama groupie

I am a big speech / presentation junkie.
I sit through almost any prime minister/president's speech in the hope that I will hear that stirring something that marks them as historical.
Ever since I heard him speak at the 2004 democratic convention, I have been sold on him.
You know when you read that first book of an up and coming novelist before anybody has even thought of them, and you go - OMG - she/he is really really excellent.
And the more work they publish, the better they get, and the more recognition they receive, and you feel a sort of vicarious joy in seeing them succeed - That's how I feel about him.
The truth is, if for nothing else, it's the time for a change and what better choice than him?
I think with every speech, he does something different and this latest one about race was so well written and so well delivered, that even if you are not an American and you have no stake in this election, it still moves you and makes you desperately hope that he will win.

I think the last time I was inspired this way to hope for change was when Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister.

My husband has totally jumped on the bandwagon. I still cling to the hope that Hillary will make it, but reality has a way of asserting itself. It looks like Obama is our man. He can beat McCain - I'm not sure that Hillary could.

That speech is what caused hubby to jump the Hillary ship. I will come back and listen when I have more time.
