So I am more relaxed now after all the wonderful comments left by friends and fam about facebook pics.
Apparently the boy and I didnot look like David and Goliath in my carefully edited, artistically chosen pictures.
So what did we do the Easter weekend, before it becomes old?
So. very. much.
On Thursday, we picked up friends and drove over to Aniston, Albama, which contrary to all my expectations, turned out to be a lovely valley town nestled in the foothills of random pretty hills.
The drive was fun, filled with 20 questions, a weird amalgamated quiz game, and many others.
Since I reached the U.S, I have never really hung out with desis.
I mean, I have a couple of friends who are desis. I think its because the desis I knew in school were so strange. I mean, all they did was have these desi parties and drink stuff and insisted on speaking and being spoken to in Hindi. I have nothing against that but I so dislike being forced to do something that I am not comfortable with, esp. with people I don't particularly fancy. And there didn't seem to be much variety in them. They all were basically the same person, with the same interests, just different bodies.
So when the boy mentioned that all the peeps who were coming for the weekend were desi, I had a claustrophobic moment.
i shouldn't have.
Because a more varied group of people from the same country could not have been found.
There was a bengali couple, a guy from bombay, a guju patel, and a rajasthani and of course the boy and I.
And we had F-U-N. and we took gorgeous pictures. so important. When one is losing weight or on the course to losing weight, it's so imp. to have proof of it (or lack of it). I mean, the mirror gives me nothing. I always find myself attractive. Because I have a tendency to focus on my face and like narcissus, get lost in it. I refuse to see the rolls of fat that have attached themselves to external organisms to my belly and my arms.
Anyhoo,
we reached Aniston late.
got out the Wii and played till the wee hours of the morn or as wee as 3 am is.
Early next morning, had breakfast at friends' parents place, sat around for a while soaking hindi adverts on hindi channels (oh how much more sense you make),
then set off to Atlanta to do random shopping, touristy sightseeing, and dinner at a fabulous turkish place.
Early next morning, went hinking in a national park, complete with gurgling brooks, and babbling birds and lady bugs
then biking, tennis, TT and ended evening with dumb charades and chaat.
Sunday was spent at local eatery's famous brunch and we set off back to good ol' sunnytown.
all in all, it was a relaxing weekend with lots of activity and lots of chances to expend calories.
