Update on weekend
Conversation with Boy, week prior to arrival (his) in smalltownamerica
Boy: Me, this time will you make sure the house is clean?
Me: yes
Boy: No, really, please and make sure there is some food when I land
Me: uhmm...yeah.
Boy: Because you know what's going to happen if there isn't, right?
Me: uhm....yeah
Boy: No really, you know right? And then you'll feel bad.
Me: Yeah, yeah, I got it! Geez. Sometimes Boy, you go on and on.
But really, he has a point.
Background: The last time the boy came around, the house was, what I would call, a little, shall we say, 'eccentrically organized' and the fridge was a little 'unfull'.
Which was ok because the plan was to go to windy city, which we did
On returning, though, the boy looked around and was, mildly saying, aghast.
He spent next day vacuuming, dusting, ironing and cooking.
Roomie and I hid in her room (now that I think of it, why the heck wasn't i helping?) and when we sneaked out, my bed was made, magazines organized, DVDs put together and dining room smelt of kitcheri and fish and chiken curry.
And I felt awfully bad and guilty about it because when I visit him, I am treated like a princess. He cooks, takes me out and I don't even bother washing my own dishes.
So this time around, I cleaned and vacuumed and cooked Ghoulash, which turned out to be too spicy and made the boy cry.
But oh well, atleast the house was clean

Too funny! My Darling Man is good at neat but not at clean. And he is a whiz at taking a pantry full of nothing and turning it into a meal you'll remember for a long time. I'm not sure how he does it - magic maybe. At least it looks that way to me.
But my man would die and go to heaven if I made Goulash for him.
Wow! Glad you are marrying this Boy of yours.
I had to laugh, though, that your food brought him to tears. I love Indian food, but even when I order it "mild" it is so spicy my nose runs.
Erm, what's wrong with having a hot man cook clean and cuddle for you?
anyway, thanks for your support during my grandmother's illness.
Sayre - i think they are all magical creatures who can cook from nothing.
Girlysmack - come on over, and I'll make it mild and nice for you. I promise. Really.
Iz - I know! Cook, clean, cuddle - a perfect man. Glad your grandmom's feeling bette.r
He he.. reminds me of when B came to visit me when I was studying. He was in such shock ..instead of exploring the cute village I was staying in he spent the morning cleaning the place.
