Wedding Planning
Its been a week and a month since I did any wedding planing. and NOw i need to start again.
This is the part where all my enthusiasm at the the celebration of our love vanishes and gets replaced by tremendous, overwhelming anxiety.
Cold, hard facts:
we are 10 months away from the wedding and:
- WE have not chosen or signed a place to hold the wedding thing.
- I do not have a manthrakodi sari
- I do not have any gold (though I feel that will be taken care of by the mother)
- We are still undecided about the caterers or even what type of food we want to serve (the boy wants roast chicken and an Indian/Western fusion. I don't care as long as everything looks elegant and glam.)
- The sample wedding invitations I ordered look like rubbish and are not as unique and classy as on website
- I need to find another cake lady because the one I had decided on, now says she can only do buttercream and chocolate, which is ok I guess but I hate having limited choices
- The boy refuses to have a first dance at reception because dancing in front of his parents and relatives would be "deathly embarrassing"
- I am still big as Monique and though the trainer and colleagues tell me I am putting on muscle and muscle weighs more and yada yada yada, I feel and look no different
- My matron of honour, the very cool and lovely M.L, has been a goldmine of information and has shown me many a trick to get through this stage.
- M.L. - I wish you were here and not in far away cold land.
- The boy, though far away, has calmed me down and helped salvage relationship with my "seemingly in my mind lax and unsupportive but in reality differently caring, undelegated to" bridesmaid.
- The boy, for all his eccentric gift buying habits, told me yesterday that he loved me irrespective of what I think I look like.

I need you to take a deep breathe for me. Did you do it? Okay, now let it out. Start repeating this for me now: Everything will be okay.
I promise. Everything will be okay. You can do this. Take it one step at a time.
Monique is sexy, yo! Who does her hair, I wonder?
Ooh, thanks for the shout out to me. I will endeavor to help as much as I can.
Plan as much as you like, and in the end (as a colleague told me) none of the guests will notice if anything goes wrong. Trust me, this is true. What they don't know will never hurt them.
