The day day after in a letter from the annmol

dear,
hey.
bt u telling daddy, u
guys would just hit it off the wrong way.
these kind of things
take time to sink in and the major fact is that we
should look at the mood of our parents before we say
anything. so please take it cool. do not get tensed.
this was bound to happen at some time. it's just going to
take some time for daddy to know and accept.
u take care.
loads of luv,
annmol

So now my mom, aided and abeted by the Annmol, has a plan
to tell my dad.
They are waiting to get him in same geographical location as
them and then slowly bring him around to the concept of
having a slighty foreign son-in-law.
I must, as the boy and the Annmol
so wisely suggest, relax and give it time.
My mind though has already gone through several
son-in-law, daughter, father-in-law meetings not
very unlike that last scene in
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge
(the brave heart will take the bride)
where Father lets go of protesting, screaming ME
in bridal finery
with a sad but understanding, "Ja (go)" as the Boy looks on.
, several bachellorette party scenarios all
of them with several
scenes of inebriation and raucousness
,
and many, many, wildly extravagant
wedding outfit fittings.

I must desist. I must relax. I must chill.
I must also accept that this might and shall take time.
Ugh.
Annoying as the boy sometimes is,
I am, after 4 and a half years and several
englightments later,
soooo ready
to be Mrs. ME-Boy

Honey, you're fine. It will be fine. Your father may be all bluster, but trust me. He only wants your happiness.

No matter how much he goes on and on about this matter, in the end it is your life. Just something to chew on.
