Yesterday & Today
Yesterday
My Nandita Das looking friend is a playwright with accomplished staged plays and one with a BBC mention. Her purpose in life is to write. At one point, I considered if that was my purpose too but life purposes should be all consuming fires that won’t let you rest till you have accomplished them
not
complacent gas lights that flicker on and off
My pseudowhite-bleeding-hole-in-the-heart-friend is a housewife. She loves to cook intricate meals for her man, potters about the house painting and upgrading and is working hard at getting impregnated with husband’s seed.
I thought that was my purpose, being a housewife that is, though don’t mind the impregnation bit either. But after cooking for boyfriend for a month and a half in that first year of being in loooouuuuuuuuve, his awe and surprise turned to smug chauvinistic expectancies. Heck no, stopped cooking for him soon after.
Called boyfriend who didn’t pick up.
Humpf. Some soul mates would have picked up hormone induced distressed calls even if it is 3 in the morning.
I thought of smoking one of roomie’s secret stash of cigarettes. But I rather kill myself with chocolate clogged arteries, instead.
Then I did some sit ups.
In the end, I just lulled myself to sleep playing Sudoku, which I am told will keep me from getting Alzheimer’s.
Send strong email to boss about corporate projects that I wish to do.
And took Friday off.
I am calmer and am grateful for friends & love, clear brain cells, healthy lungs, soon to be lean body and a 3 day weekend even if I am missing purpose and rudder.

Hiya Babe!
Just confirming that I received your mass-mail! And HOW are you???!!! Really, really, happy to hear from you even if it was through a mass-mail. No offense meant but HAVE YOU HEARD OF KEEPING IN TOUCH????!!!! Anyways, it's super-duper to hear from you! :-) :-) And don't worry, AE's not missing. She's fabulously alive and well! :-)
Lithi Lazar...I shall write to u now.
Sudoku is the best thing I discovered in the last 6 months. I stumbled on to it with KK - who got bored out of his mind trying to decode it and fell asleep beside me in my living room while I hacked away at the annoying little 9 by 9 grid that wouldnt add up.
